Medical and Wellness Center

A registered nurse is available in the Health and Wellness Center to treat minor injuries and illnesses and to respond to medical emergencies. Students with acute problems requiring a physician can be seen by appointment at the Family Practice Associates located in the Medical Arts Plaza in Kerrville. Mental health counseling is available at student's expense, by request or referral, to a professional trained counselor.

Campus Security staff are trained in First Aid and CPR and are available when the Health and Wellness Center is closed. Health guidance, education, literature and presentations are available on request. The Center also has information on health insurance, which may be obtained from a private provider.

The Health and Wellness Center located in Cailloux is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students will be asked to provide insurance information or pay at the time of service. For health related emergencies after hours, contact Campus Security at 739-1111 or 911 for assistance.

Health Insurance

It is mandatory for Greystone students to have health and accident insurance coverage.

For those students who do not carry current insurance, a college student health insurance plan is available to all Schreiner students through Heritage Insurance.

Information and enrollment forms are available in the Health and Wellness Center or in the Student Affairs office in Cailloux.
